Connection Magic™ is the big news in Total Eclipse 6. What does it mean? That's what Keith Vincent and Michael Starkman will team up to show you on Tuesday, June 11th. Keith will be in Texas and Michael will be in Pennsylvania, but they'll be team-teaching this webinar and showing you how to co-edit a document with Total Eclipse 6.

Connection Magic: What the heck is it? Simply stated, it's the Next Big Thing in Eclipse.  But it's really not just one thing.  It's a service that makes possible all kinds of things. including keyless operation of your CAT software (on multiple computers), Team Editing, the ability to connect over the internet with new Bridge Professional and the soon-to-be-released Bridge Mobile, and much more, many of which are yet to be announced. It's really not a single feature at all, but a host of possibilities enabled by special software that's located out in the Cloud. When you connect to the Connection Magic server, you're able to do all kinds of things that weren't even dreamt of just a decade ago.  Here are some of things it can do right now and that Keith and Michael will cover.

  • Keyless Freedom. No more dongles! You can still use keys if you want or need to, but now you can run Eclipse on one or many computers.
  • Team Editing. A lot of users think this is a realtime feature.  It is something realtime reporters will like, of course, but it can be used anytime, whether the transcript is being generated in realtime or being edited days or weeks later. Team Editing simply allows multiple editors in different locations to work in the same document. So whenever it might be helpful to have your scopist or proofreader (or both) work on a job with you, it's now as easy as a couple of mouse clicks.
  • Bridge Professional. The newest version of Bridge will now connect over the internet using--you guessed it--the Connection Magic server. There are no more security perimeters do deal with, no more firewalls to shut down or ports to open. A couple of clicks and your clients are connected, whether they're across town or around the world.
  • Bridge Mobile. Just previewed at the Eclipse Users' Group Conference in Las Vegas in April, this is the ultimate answer for realtime client connections. Again, using the Connection Magic server, clients will be able to connect to your realtime output using any device that runs a brower. That's right, any device, and that includes iPads, iPhones, Android phones, Android tablets, Mac PCs, IBM-compatible PCs, even Linux and Unix systems. If it can run a browser it will almost certainly be able to run Bridge Mobile. It's not finished yet, but it will be soon and it's ready to show now so you can see what all the excitement's about.

If you're an Eclipse user, you should plan to view this webinar. Our presentations are completely flexible in order to work with reporters' busy schedules. You can sign up and view the live event.  If your schedule doesn't permit that, then sign up and watch the recording, which is released about ten days later. Either way you earn CEUs and you learn more about the very best CAT software on the planet, Total Eclipse.
